New year for Indonesian people usually means starting something new. For the second time, AIESEC Indonesia collaborate with Danone Aqua start the new year with some events for welcoming World Kidney Day.
With 10% of the population worldwide having some form of kidney disease, there is a long road ahead to raise awareness about the dangers of kidney disease. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which is predicted to increase by 17% over the next decade, is now recognized by WHO and other organizations as a global public health issue.Because of that, AIESEC want to contribute more through this project.
Hometown project is ran by AIESEC’s members in 45 cities in Indonesia. With the purpose to increase awareness about how important to drink mineral water for health. They also recruit volunteers to do this project. Every city will do some events such as School Roadshow to some schools in their region to campaign about Healthy Life Style and Habit of Drink Mineral Water to Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School students until March 2017 later.
Besides School roadshow, these activities are also done by virtual campaign using Instagram that can be seen with hashtag #HometownProject and #WorldKidneyDay. Hopefully through this collaboration project, people will be more aware of their own health and in the future Indonesia people can have a healthier lifestyle.
