Yogyakarta, 13 September 2024 — The Project Plan Competition (PPC) by AIESEC in UGM returns, encouraging youth to take action toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PPC 101 and Its Objectives

PPC aims to contribute to the SDGs by inspiring youth to take meaningful action. In collaboration with DANA Indonesia, this year’s PPC focuses on Quality Education, No Poverty, and Decent Work and Economic Growth, motivating the next generation to contribute significantly to these global issues.

Empowering Youth to Drive Change

PPC is more than a competition—it is a mission to raise awareness and inspire action for the SDGs. To meet this goal, AIESEC in UGM organized several Pre-Events, designed to engage youth with the SDGs. These activities encouraged critical thinking, innovation, and collaboration, driving participants toward sustainable change.

The PPC series featured two impactful Pre-Events, each crafted with a unique purpose. The first session included a webinar introducing the SDG focus, followed by a company visit to DANA, providing insight into how positive change can be driven. The second session focused on equipping participants with the skills needed to take bold actions, featuring speakers passionate about PPC’s objectives.

Pre-Event 1: Webinar and Company Visit with DANA

The first Pre-Event, titled “Company Visit with DANA: Future Exploration of Poverty, Education, and Economic Growth,” was led by Ester Sitepu, Channel Partnership Senior Specialist at DANA Indonesia. She introduced delegates to DANA and shared her personal experiences of contributing to the SDGs. Her insights provided practical tips for building project plans and motivated participants to recognize their potential roles in making a global impact. A Q&A session followed, giving delegates a chance to further explore DANA’s work and Ester’s experiences.

They shared their experiences with the SDGs and provided tips for success in competitions, empowering participants to succeed in their own projects.

Impact of Pre-Events on Participants

The Pre-Events equipped participants with valuable insights, practical skills, and the inspiration to take meaningful action for the SDGs. As one of PPC’s delegate, shared:

“Although I was not a contestant in this event, I joined the Webinar. It opened my eyes to AIESEC and the global issues they raised. This event grabbed my attention, and I look forward to joining more AIESEC activities in the future. Kudos to the committees for delivering their best work!” — Arrasya A., Delegate of Project Plan Competition.

Looking Ahead: Main Event and Future Goals

These Pre-Events set the stage for the main Project Plan Competition, which will allow participants to showcase their innovative ideas. Those who progress to the second phase will receive exclusive mentoring from experienced leaders, helping them refine their presentations and maximize their impact, ultimately contributing to the SDGs.
