Bandung, 7 November 2024 — Did you guys know? Leadership is a very important aspect that a youth must have in order to influence and guide themselves and the people around them to achieve a certain goal. Developing a sense of leadership is a journey that one has to go through as it does not happen overnight. Subsequently, each young person has their own unique way to dig in and develop their leadership potential by utilizing the opportunities they currently have.
It is important for youth to set a vision before they begin to develop their leadership skills. This vision could be to take action and strive to be the best version of themselves and others along the way. This is in line with AIESEC as a global, independent, non-partisan and youth-led organization. AIESEC provides various types of leadership experiences to empower youth to become value-driven leaders, one of those experiences named Global Volunteer!
Global Volunteer Definition
Global Volunteer is an AIESEC program which provides 6-8 weeks of volunteering experiences. The exchange participants of Global Volunteer have the chance to meet like-minded individuals in order to foster impacts in social projects and raise awareness regarding SDGs. AIESEC in Indonesia provides this experience in every local chapter, one of them is from AIESEC in Unpad (Universitas Padjajaran/Padjadjaran University).

She represented Indonesia and had a discussion with other delegates to solve a problem related to SDGs. One of the SDGs she supported is the 14th SDG: Life Below Water, where her team visited Wangsan Beach to clean the beach together.

She also volunteered as a teacher for schools to implement the 4th SDG: Quality Education. In the all-boys school of Daeil High School, she participated in teaching about building physical structures, where they will create an architectural model of a building to test its strength. She also volunteered in Mangwon Children’s Local Center where she introduces Indonesian culture with other EPs from China, Australia and many more.
