Igniting Youth Climate Advocacy

Here Comes the Sun 1.0 seeks to raise awareness about climate change while equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to drive sustainable change. The project offers a series of impactful events, providing participants with valuable insights and experiences that contribute to their personal and professional growth. As an added incentive, participants will receive e-certificates and exclusive merchandise for their dedication to climate advocacy.

Over the course of four weeks, Here Comes the Sun 1.0 provided a transformative experience for youth eager to take real action against climate change. Through webinars, workshops, and cross-cultural collaborations, participants gained valuable insights into the urgency of climate action while developing the skills to drive sustainable change.

Key Program Highlights & Expert Insights

The project featured a variety of impactful activities, including educational webinars and expert talks, which addressed global climate challenges through discussions with leading environmental figures. Hands-on workshops provided four focused sessions on sustainability and climate action, allowing participants to apply their learning in practical ways. A cross-cultural exchange with AIESEC in the Netherlands enriched the experience, promoting global collaboration on environmental issues. The LC2LC Session with AIESEC in UNILA facilitated leadership development and knowledge-sharing among youth leaders. Hands in the Soil, Eyes on the Future

One of the standout activities of Here Comes the Sun 1.0 is the Mangrove Planting Initiative, in collaboration with sipalinglingkungan.id. This hands-on workshop provides participants with the opportunity to contribute directly to coastal restoration efforts by planting mangroves. Mangroves play a crucial role in protecting shorelines, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting biodiversity. By participating in this activity, youth can take tangible action toward environmental conservation while learning about the importance of preserving Indonesia’s coastal ecosystems.
