Jakarta, 23rd July 2025 — Have you ever wondered how AIESEC is different from other groups? We have our own cool words, special energy, and definitely a unique way to show we care!
If you’ve ever been to an AIESEC event – a big conference, a local project, or even just a get-together – you probably noticed we don’t just say “thank you” and move on. That’s just not our style! When we appreciate someone, we go big. We make it loud, we make it fun, and we make sure that person truly feels it.
Curious about AIESEC’s special way of saying “thanks”? Keep reading to find out!
The AIESEC Way: Loud Cheers, Big Hearts
One of the things that really stands out in our culture is how we sing or yell to show we’re thankful. It’s not something you find in every organization. It’s truly ours. It’s what makes AIESEC feel special and different.
Imagine this: a speaker has just finished sharing their story, or maybe a partner has just ended their support for a project. Most people would just clap or say a quick “thank you.” But not in AIESEC! We start a chant. Not just any chant—it’s the famous one:
“We love you, we do!” “How much? THIS MUCH!” (And everyone raises both hands high above their heads to show big love!)
Okay, if you’ve never seen this before, you might think, “Hmm, that sounds a little silly.” And yes, maybe it does at first. But when you’re actually in the room, with everyone shouting that chant just for you? It feels amazing. It’s fun, it’s loud, but it’s real. It’s AIESEC’s way of saying, “Hey, you matter. We see you. Thanks for being here and for all you do.”

Making People Feel Like They Belong Through Thanks
To someone outside AIESEC, it might look like just another fun thing we do. But honestly? It shows a lot about who we are. We don’t just talk about leadership and being connected; we live it. We create a place where people feel seen, valued, and celebrated. In AIESEC, showing thanks isn’t just a small extra step. It’s a huge part of our whole feeling.
Of course, we care about reaching goals, growing, and all that leadership stuff. But what truly makes AIESEC special? It’s these moments: the fun chants, the inside jokes, the claps and cheers. They remind us that we’re all part of something bigger.
So, if you ever find yourself in one of those moments? Join in fully! Raise your hands and shout “THIS MUCH!” like you truly mean it. Because behind the chant, there’s something powerful: true thanks, strong connections, and a whole lot of heart.
And if one day it’s your name they’re chanting? Enjoy it! You’ve earned it.
